San Jose and the Central Valley are characterized by green hills that can rise as much as 1,200m (3,936 ft.) above sea level. With a spring like climate year-round, this is Costa Rica's primary agricultural region, with coffee farms making up the majority of landholdings. Within 2 hours or so from San Jose you will be able to see volcanoes, go river rafting, visit a butterfly garden or do a Canopy tour!
Monteverde
These amazing "green mountains," area features a variety of natural places, picturesque paths, flora- and fauna-watching opportunities, wildlife, hiking, and canopy tours, trips to suspension bridges and visits to butterfly and frog gardens. Here you will find the famous Monteverde Biological Cloud Forest Preserve which is one of the most developed and well-maintained natural attractions in Costa Rica. The trails are clearly marked, regularly traveled, and generally gentle. The cloud forest here is lush and largely untouched.
Guanacaste
Guanacaste & the Nicoya Peninsula are located in the northwest part of the country. It is the area of many of Costa Rica's beautiful sunniest and most popular beaches. You will find long stretches of deserted sandy beaches. This region is the driest in the country. Additionally; Guanacaste boasts semi active volcanoes, several lakes, and one of the last remnants of tropical dry forest left in Central America. Guanacaste's beaches, full of sun and activity, offer all types of outdoor activities, including surfing, kayaking, swimming, diving, snorkeling and horseback riding. Beautiful beaches abound along this coastline; some of them are pristine and deserted. Whatever your preference in beaches is, you will have it in this region.

Early departure arriving in Monteverde in time for lunch at your selected hotel. The afternoon will be yours to enjoy the nature reserve.

Monteverde Cloud Forest
Morning visit to the famous Cloud reserve. After breakfast a nature guide will take you along the well maintained trails of this unique and world famous reserve. Within the 6,000 acres of virgin cloud forest there are over 1,500 varieties of orchids and infinite varieties of fern, broad-leafed plants, bromeliads and other tropical flora and fauna. The rare resplendent quetzal, black guan, three-toed sloth and golden toad are also found here. In the afternoon we will visit the Butterfly Farm.
Services includes: Guided tour of the cloud forest as well as the butterfly farm, taxes.
