Hotels are classified with Stars (from 1 to 5), depending on hotel facilities, location and special features. A five-star hotel has most of the fancy features you might expect from an international hotel: sauna, gym, swimming pool, English speaking staff. TicoNature.Com works only with hotels whose classification range between 3 and 5 starts, except for the comfortable and simple pousadas located in exotic destinations. But even those have TV, A/C and a private bathroom.
